CANON T70 35 mm Camera Body (TESTED, CLEANED, LUBED, NEW SEALS): in excellent operating condition. Included in this package are: Canon T70 Camera Body (Serial # 1513457). Remote Switch Cover (frequently missing on these cameras), bottom left side on finger grip.Original Canon Body Cap.Camera background: The Canon T70 was introduced in April 1984 and discontinued in Dec 1987. The T70 was the 2nd of the Canon’s new T series that were compatible with Canon’s FD Lens Mount. The first in “T” series was the T50. Like the T50, theT70 was designed with a built in power winder and added a power rewind. Unlike the T50 which offered Program AE-only, the T70 also added the following: Wide Program AE,Tele Program AE, Shutter Priority AE, Program Flash AE, Electronic Flash AE, Manual, and Stopped Down AE. NOTE: When buying a Canon T70, look carefully at the battery door and the battery compartment. You frequently will find the the door is broken and/or the compartment has considerable corrosion evident. Do not assume that you can fix these problems. The easiest way to fix a lid problem is to replace the bottom plate of the camera at about $35 for a used part. If there is corrosion in the compartment and this has destroyed the contacts at the bottom of the battery compartment, there is no way I know of to fix this problem. Condition of this camera:Optics: Very Good Condition Viewfinder – Very Good Condition – clear and bright with a few small dust particles. Mechanical: Excellent conditionShutter is snappy at all speeds and program modes. Light meter is working and displaying accurately in viewfinder. Good calibration. (Activated by depressing shutter button 1/2 way). On/Off working as designed – Controlled by the main switch lock (L) setting is “off”). Battery compartment in excellent condition with no corrosion and Battery lid is in excellent condition – (broken lids are a common problem on T70s). Camera requires 2 AA batteries (not included). Bat check is working.Seals in excellent condition.Power Wind and Rewind, Frame Counter, and Self Timer are all working as designed and operating smoothly. BC (battery check), ISO, and Mode push buttons are all working correctly. Up and Down buttons by shutter button are working well. Film auto advance working very well in single shot and continuous shots modes.The Sequential AE “lock” switch (located on the front just right of the finger grip) is workingCosmetics: Good Condition.Leatherette is in very good condition with a few very light scratches on the film door – too light to see in pictures and likely due to removing this camera from the packaging.Top plate is in good condition, with a small ding on the top left.(Look closely at pictures)Bottom plate is in very good condition with a few light scratches (these are too light to see in pictures).Comments: A CANON T70 in very good condition. This camera would make a very nice every day shooter or back-up camera. This T70 is a significant step up from the T50 and gives you a lot more control of the camera’s operation. It is a fun and easy camera to use.
