This watch is one of three which were used for promotion on an exhibition stand at the U.S Shot Show. This particular model with a 12/24 hour US pattern dial is sterile (unbranded) which tends to appeal to serving military in quite a few countries such as the US and Canada where we supply watches. Although this watch traces it’s origins right back to MWC’s earliest G10 designs in the 1980s the 100 m models were initially introduced for contract purchases in 2008-2010 and were an upgraded version of the earlier battery hatch models, when they were launched they represented the most radical upgrade to MWC general service watches since 2004. Currently, MWC is the leading contractor manufacturing NATO specification infantry watches which meet a water resistance rating of 100 m (330ft) as opposed to the standard 30m or 50m (99ft or 165ft) rating of other manufacturers. Whilst the screw down crown and screw caseback greatly improve the water resistance, the upgrade to the Ronda 715li movement with 10 year battery life significantly reduces the maintenance requirements and greatly lengthens the battery change intervals . The watch has a sandblasted non reflective case, sandblasting is a process which was historically used on numerous military watches from other manufacturers and has not been widely employed since the 1990s, although more costly to manufacture than other steel finishes it offers the best non-reflective characteristics and is vastly superior to both standard brushed or satin stainless steel cases. When MWC secured a contract to produce the earlier variants of this model in 2009 it was specified alongside the requirement for screw caseback, 100m water resistance and screw down crown that the case should be 100% covert and non-reflective, and it was decided that sand blasting was the best process to meet that requirement, in addition it offers a very robust and durable finish. The G10 100m models offer high levels of luminosity for night use and have clear, easily readable dials. The 100m G10 models are very rugged and designed to survive the most extreme of conditions. The watch is supplied with both a gray NATO webbing strap and also a black version, we can also supply a wide range of straps in other colors if you wish to buy another variant as an additional strap. The back of the case bears various contract markings (which are unique to each watch) in addition to the serial number.
